The Museum of Sexual Diversity of the State of São Paulo’s mission is to preserve the social, political, and cultural heritage of LGBT community in Brazil through research, protection, and communication of material and immaterial references. As the first museum in Latin America dedicated to the subject, MDS was created in 2012, under the Secretary of Culture and Creative Economy of the State of São Paulo. MDS seeks to contribute to the appreciation and visibility of sexual diversity through education and promotion of full citizenship and human rights culture.
