The highlight of these celebrations is this 50th Anniversary NFTS Archive Project in collaboration with Google Arts and Culture.

After half a century of training filmmakers, whether it be fiction, documentary, Animation, TV or games making, the NFTS has curated 200 student films from its vaults and made them public here.

This is a moment to hear from filmmakers who have gone on to make some of the most memorable pieces of cinema and tv, whether that be as directors, editors, composers, cinematographers or any of the talented behind the camera crews it takes to create these stories.

In some cases, films have been digitally transferred for the first time from their original prints. Some films date back to the late 1970s.

Take a peek at production stills and behind the scenes images and videos from films dating back to the seventies.  Animators have shared their early conceptual art and sketches revealing the evolution of the draw, painted or stop motion characters for their films.
