Small dimensions... huge messages
Philately shows us that great art can be contained on paper measuring just over 4 cm. It is a medium that allows us to tell stories from the past and present. An art that disseminates history, sport, and culture from all over the world.

Private collector
The museum's first exhibition was the private collection of Spook James: a compilation of stamps telling the history of baseball, which today are part of the museum's collection.

Pieces of history
The stamps do not just tell the story of what they portray. Each piece of paper embodies a different story. Some are designed by renowned artists, others are autographed by teams, while others commemorate important dates. They are physical witnesses of history.

Art and sports
The first baseball postal issue at MUFI took place in 1999: a series of engravings and drawings by Francisco Toledo. Over the years, other editions have been produced with the Diablos Rojos (Red Devils) and the Monterrey Baseball Hall of Fame.

Art beyond paper
For the museum's 20th anniversary, 20 visual artists were invited to work, taking philately as their starting point, on different objects related to baseball such as bats, balls, decorative plates, and baseball posters, among others.

Stamps of legend
The museum is a living example of how art and sport are linked in the heart of Mexico. Its postage stamps narrate the history not only of a sport but of a country that lives and breathes art.
