Bach Ma National Park
Viet Nam’s Bach Ma National Park is established to conserve the only remaining natural forest stretching from the East Sea to the Annamite Mountains.

The park lies on the peaks of the Northern Truong Son Mountain Range. Bach Ma National Park’s terrestrial ecosystem covers 98% of the park and consists of tropical evergreen rain forests and monsoon forests.
Species of significant economic value such as Parashorea stellata and Hopea siamensis can be found in its rich forests.

Its forests are also home to the critically endangered red-shanked douc langur (Pygathrix nemaeus) and Vietnamese crested argus (Rheinartia ocellata). The elusive Truong Son muntjac (Megamuntiacus truongsonensis) have also been spotted in the park.

Bach Ma National Park is also recognised as one of three endemic bird areas in Viet Nam. In addition to its native bird species, migratory birds also stop by the park’s large lagoons.

The park is ideal for scientific research. Lying in a geographic and climactic transition area between North and South Viet Nam, the park hosts a variety of biomes that host unique species. Ten species of flora and 14 species of fauna were discovered and named after the park.

The park is located at the headwaters of many rivers and streams such as the Truoi River, Cu De River, Khe Su River, and Ta Trach River. It serves as an important source of water for the communities residing in the buffer zones.
