Together with other elements of the complex – the Wrocław Congress Center, the Pergola, and Multimedia Fountain, as well as the Square under the Iglica, it creates a charming recreational space, very much liked by the people of Wrocław.

Multimedia Fountain

The Wrocław’s Multimedia Fountain is the biggest in Poland and one of the biggest in Europe. Its grand opening took place on 4 June 2009 on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of free elections in post-war Poland. It had been a gift for the citizens of the city.

Today it is one of the most important attractions, constantly attracting tourists from Poland and from abroad. The structure occupies an area close to 1 hectare, with light points, 300 water jets, and 3 fire jets placed at the bottom. This natural element!

Pergola

The entire complex of the Centennial Hall areas is highly geometric.

For example, a half-ellipse. Hans Poelzig, the creator of the neighboring Four Domes Pavilion, bent in this characteristic arch the Pergola surrounding the artificial pond (also half-elliptic) on the north-eastern side of the Hall.

Two rows of poles made of rough, raw concrete are crowned with a grating, on which a vine will gracefully lay down, giving salutary shade in summer. We counted – there are 750 poles and the length of the whole structure is as much as 640 meters.

Pergola is a place created for taking walks and spending slow, lazy hours on a favorite book reading or casual gossip with friends.
