Since its establishment in 1989, more than 13,000 performances -of dance, theater and music- took place at the Suzanne Dellal Centre. Access Map - Oct 1989

On this ground used to stand the first education center built outside of Jaffa, in 1908. The façade of the original building was renovated into the Suzanne Dellal Hall in 1989 by the Dellal Family Foundation. The changeover of the site contributed to the increasing of the attractivity of Neve Tsedek.

Yaron Yerushalmi was born in 1950 of David and Ilana Yerushalmi. He died during the war of attrition at the age of 19. The families David and Michael Yerushalmi have dedicated the Yaron Yerushalmi Level, which hosts a theatre, a rehearsal studio and the Suzanne Dellal Centre offices.

The Batsheva Building supported by the Dellal Foundation, the Municipality of Tel-Aviv-Yaffo, the Ministry of Culture and Sport and the Tel Aviv Foundation. The building serves the Batsheva Dance Company and the Batsheva Ensemble.

Curtain Up was inititated by the Suzanne Dellal Centre, with the Support of the Ministry of Education and Culture. Along the years, it has become a major event for established local choreographers.

The Curtain Up Festival is a celebration of all on­stage arts: performers, producers, costume designers and more. The Festival chooses a different group of dancers every year to spot the next dancing superstars and get them featured in the festival.

This festival gives independent choreographers the opportunity to present fully produced performances with support in all aspects of production, including lighting and costume design, technical support, public relations, advertising campaigns, and income from ticket sales. Each year, established local dance artists are appointed to identify new talent to participate in Curtain Up. These mentors guide them through the creation process, culminating in three weeks of performance throughout Israel, at the Suzanne Dellal Centre, and again the following summer as part of Summer Dance. Curtain Up is supported by the Dance Department of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport and produced by the Israel Festival.

Shades in Dance is a bi-annual mentorship program that pairs young choreographers with a professional artistic director to create a fully produced premiere that serves as these artists’ debut into the Israeli dance scene. Many of today’s top Israeli choreographers began their professional careers as part of this project, including Barak Marshall, Inbal Pinto, Emanuel Gat, Liat Dror & Nir Ben-Gal, Vertigo Dance Company, and many more.
