Art in Oregon was founded in 2017 by Owen Premore and Tammy Jo Wilson. Our goal has been to establish collaborative relationships in order to increase visibility and access to art for all people.

Uplifting Oregon's black artists
We believe its essential to lift up the contributions of black artists above systematic oppression in life and in art. Since 2021, our program BLACK MATTER has showcased contemporary Oregon-based black artists in an effort to address an imbalance in representation.
Above all, BLACK MATTER offers black artists the opportunity to share artwork that expresses what's in their hearts and minds without the requirement of a political agenda.
