A Green New Deal for Gender Equality

We are bringing an intersectional approach to current climate policy and priorities to ensure social justice is at the heart of the transition to a net zero economy.

Women's Environmental Network & Women's Budget Group

Our project brings together the Women's Budget Group (Wbg), a not-for-profit membership network of women’s voluntary organisations, academics and policy experts aiming to promote a gender equal economy and the Women's Environmental Network (Wen), a feminist organisation working with women and communities to tackle issues around gender, health and our environment.

Grassroots & Policy Work

Our work looks holistically at the systemic changes required to ensure no-one is left behind. We're working at the grassroots and policy levels on housing, transport, local communities, green jobs, green finance, social infrastructure and the processes involved.

Case Study: Housing.United Nations Climate Change Conference COP26

Case Study: Housing

Improvements to retrofit and green building are important, but do little to help access to housing, its high cost, and the poor quality of much of our housing stock. Radical transformation of the housing sector is needed to properly address the crises of climate and inequality.

You can read more about some of our work on housing here.

Case Study: Transport.United Nations Climate Change Conference COP26

Case Study: Transport

Investment in transport is heavily skewed towards commuting and car usage, and is unaffordable for many. Transformation is required that recognises access to public transport as a universal basic right, enabling people to move around in a safe, healthy and affordable way.

You can read more on our work in this area here.

Care and Climate.United Nations Climate Change Conference COP26

Care and Climate

Investment in care is greener than in construction and is economically sound, not only because it generates employment, but also because it helps create a healthier, better educated and more productive population.

#GreenCaringEconomy Now!

If structural change to address the climate emergency is to be truly transformative, it cannot replicate current inequalities, injustices and power structures. We are calling for a Green Caring Economy, for people and planet.
