From exhibits that are thousands of years old to the living craft of brewing - the Bavarian Brewery Museum is a real treasure trove of beer culture which, in addition to its informative character, will definitely be remembered for its numerous seasonal specialty beers.

The exhibition begins with the art of craft brewing around 1900, which impressively demonstrates the physical effort required to produce the delicious barley juice at that time.

4. the Kulmbacher Darrhaube

It used to be the symbol of every malt house. The highlight: the mechanical attachment on the chimney always turns to the side facing away from the wind, like a weathercock.

This prevents rainwater from penetrating through the opening to the floor of the casing below.

6. beer culture through the ages

From beer brewing in the time of the ancient Egyptians to the Romans and Celts, the “Beer culture through the ages” leads you to the beer brewing of the monks in the Middle Ages. Valuable exhibits such as old beer mugs, brewhouses and precious treasures await you!

7. beer in advertising

In addition to beer bottles, crown caps, labels, beer felts and beer glasses, many rare tin signs can be seen in “Beer in advertising”. This includes the advertising sign for EKU export beer from the period between 1890 and 1910, which was actually once a dark beer (''Dunkles'').

8. the brewery architecture

Until the 1930s, beer was stored in dark cellars for fermentation. Due to differences in pressure and temperature, not every barrel produced the same beer. In order to bottle uniform beer despite this, brewers mixed the beers together using blending blocks.
