The Land of "Toyoashiwara Zuiho" or the "Land of Plentiful Plants"

Since ancient times, Japan has been called the "Land of Toyoashiwara Zuiho," or the "Land of Plentiful Plants", and is said to be blessed with abundant water, where rice grows in abundance.

Omita Festival-3Ise City

The rice and vegetables offered at the Ise Jingu Festival are grown by the pure water of Mie and dedicated at the Shinto Tame Festival. Rain from the heavens flows down rivers, nurtures food, and spins life.

Isuzu River

Ise is both the source and mouth of the Isuzu River. Many songs and poems have been written about it throughout history because it flows through Ise Grand Shrine.

Isuzu River is alleged to have been the place where Yamatohime-no-Mikoto washed her skirt's hem a long time ago. 

Across the river from Ise Jingu's Naiku area is a large washing area paved with stones said to have been donated by Keishoin, the mother of the shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi. You can purify yourself here. Washing area water is said to symbolize purity.

Uji Bridge is located at the entrance to the Naiku, and is a 101.8m long and 8.42m wide cypres. Secular and sacred worlds are said to be connected by it.

This natural park connects the area from Futamiura Beach to around Meoto Iwa Rocks. Passing along Ise Bay surrounded by pine trees, it is perfect for walking while gazing at the Pacific Ocean.

Futamiura has long been famous as a place of beauty, and many poets have praised its landscape. There are nine monuments in the vicinity of Futamiura with some of these poems, and there are monuments inscribed with poems by Saigyo and Motoori Norinaga that remain in the park.

Hinjitsukan is a former authentic inn turned museum located in Futami district, at the eastern end of Ise City in Mie Prefecture, Japan. Listed as an important cultural property since 2010

This luxurious residence served as a guest house for high-ranking pilgrims who came to visit the Ise Jingu Shrine, such as members of the imperial family.
