Michelangelo's gaze

A 15-minute film called "Lo sguardo di Michelangelo" (Michelangelo's Gaze) will be shown in the Crypt of San Sepolcro. Made by the director from Ferrara in 2004, three years before his death, it can be considered a sort of spiritual testament.

The director's gaze

The gaze referred to in the title is the director's: he walks into the shadows of the church, stopping and remaining motionless, almost overwhelmed, before Michelangelo's masterpiece, scrutinising the details and dwelling on the prophet's expression.

The Crypt of Leonard

An extraordinary experience that makes visitors feel like protagonists, bringing them into contact with the ancient crypt in the total silence that invites a comparison between human transience and the perpetuity of art.
