Meet the Visual Artist
Kenyan artist Umazi Mvurya uses visual arts to envision a world free from inequality. Her impactful installations and media promote change. Known for leading the peace-driven I Am Kenyan Project, she's a TedX Teen fellow and recognized by BBC for her activism and visionary art.

What story will rise from the remnants of our identity? This duo exhibit A-Fri-Land and Sankha, offers a philosophical journey through time and heritage merging indigenous rights with Africanfuturism to transcend history and celebrate the power of choice in shaping our future.

"Yosankha. Kwa fika nthawi yosankha. (To choose. The time has come to choose.)" These Chichewa words frame "Sankha," an anthem blending Malawi's traditional and modern sounds urging us to transcend past grievances and shape a future beyond our history.

"A-Fri-Land" envisions a future where everyone's right to land and peace is recognized. Through vibrant, floral aesthetics, it reimagines a world where ancestral connections are honored and urges us to acknowledge the past, but focus on building a prosperous, inclusive future for all.
