Monumental Trees

Since its foundation in 1805, the Reggia di Monza park has boasted a collection of 10,000 trees with species from around the whole world.

The Reggia di Monza park's vast botanic collection transforms the landscape into a breathtaking artwork, a vibrant tapestry of colors and scents that constantly evolves.

Two ancient oak trees, Italian natural monuments, stand tall in the Royal Garden, a testament to the park's rich history. They've graced the Royal Villa's facade for over two centuries.

Among the specimens in the diverse collection of trees visitors can admire the Japanese ginkgo, American redwood, Canadian tulip tree, and Lebanon cedar, showcasing global botanical wonders.

Commissioned by Ferdinando Dasburg, passionate botanist, the specimens were selected from the Reggia’s gardener. Later the botanical collection was enriched with new species.

In the second Hapsburg period, Archduke Ranieri had a campanula created which still bears his name.

The Royal Park continues to impress with its majestic oak, protected by a diverse forest including elderberry, yew, walnut, and a two-centuries-old horse chestnut trees.
