Our main goal and purpose is to implement Ethnobotanic Gardens in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for biodiversity conservation, the protection of most threatened plants and trees, the documentation and valorisation of Traditional Plant Knowledge, and the Inclusion of Indigenous Pygmies & their culture to build peaceful sustainable communities. We focus on Trees for Biodiversity Conservation, Ecological Restoration, Food Security, Art and Culture. From a human-rights, gender-sensitive, multi-stakeholder approach, the JEBK promotes traditional food systems based on plants meanwhile fighting against the effects of climate change to achieve sustainable communities in rural zones in DRC. The JEBK promotes virtual access to the DR Congolese Mega biodiversity, the culture, local expertise, meanwhile building capacity of local communities to contribute to sustainable development.
