Life in the Yerbatales

For more than a century, yerbatales (fields for yerba maté cultivation) have made up the epicenter of Misiones agricultural production. They are places where people work hard, often in extreme weather conditions due to both rain and heat.

This is the reason why reviro became a very popular dish and was eaten (and is still eaten) before starting a day of work on the yerbatales. Its simplicity and high-calorie content help you face the day, together with a cup of the no less traditional maté cocido.
