Signature Performances of Daegu Concert House

Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and Saint Thomas Choir have a long history since their foundation in the 18^th century. They performed the whole <St.Matthew Passion> of J. S. Bach in Daegu Concert House. 

Sejong Soloists and the best violinist Gil Shaham’s collaboration was highly anticipated by Korean audience in 2016. <Four Seasons> of Vivaldi was performed through the Great Performance Series and received wide acclaim by the audience.

Beloved and respected pianist of Korea, Kun Woo Paik is called “the seeker on keyboard” by his earnest attitude on music and humbleness constantly studying and practicing. He has performed for Daegu audiences for many years with works of Beethoven, Schumann and Ravel.

Nikolaj Znaider is a recognized great violinist as a soloist and conductor. Yeol Eum Son is a pianist showing limitless technique and extensive repertoire. Nikolaj Znaider and Yeol Eum Son’s Duo Recital was performed at the Great Performance Series in 2018. 

Rudolf Buchbinder is a world-renowned Austrian pianist and referred to as Beethoven specialist. He enriched the stage of Daegu Concert House with a stage dedicated to Beethoven in 2019 and 2021.

The meeting of the Budapest Festival Orchestra led by Hungarian conductor Ivan Fischer and ‘the first Korean winner of the Chopin International Competition’ Seong Jin Cho received wide acclaim and enthusiastic response from the audience.

Violinist Inmo Yang who became to win the first prize of the Paganini International Violin Competition brightened 2021 Insight Series. In 2022, He won the first prize of Jean Sibelius International Violin Competition and have been recognized as a young virtuoso.

Pianist Jae hong Park, the winner of 2021 Busoni Piano Competition came to the stage of the Daegu Concert House and delivered the enthusiasm and emotion of the competition by performing his competition programs including works of Schumann, Beethoven and Busoni. 

At the 18^th International Chopin Piano Competition, Hyuk Lee was the only Korean pianist to compete to the final stage and has won at the Grand Prix Animato-Chopin 2021. He performed the piece of Chopin delivering the joys and sorrows of Chopin’s life and Russian music.

The world's most active oboist François Leleux and pianist Emmanuel Strosser are creating synergy as good musical partners through the world's ensemble stage. In 2022, he visited the Daegu Concert House and showed his elegant French oboe works.
