Hudson Guild is a settlement house which opened its doors in 1895. Arts programs have always been an integral part of the Guild's mission of building and sustaining a strong community, especially through services and activities for those in economic need. Hudson Guild Gallery opened in 1948 and has presented hundreds of exhibits over the past 70 years. Guild Gallery II opened at the Fulton Center in 2001. Since 1948, there have been four gallery directors at the Guild -- Theo Fried, Walter Friedewald, Haim Mendelson, and the current director Jim Furlong. Most of the artists whose work you will see on this site have shown their work at the Guild on numerous occasions over the past two decades. The wide range of their styles and ideas attests to the rich diversity of expression in the Guild's community for over 120 years.
