What is the Asian Circuit?
The Asian Circuit brings together the museums of Lisbon that hold the most significant collections of Asiatic art, providing visitors with a complementary view of objects from the most varied origins, periods and typologies, on a journey through time and different latitudes.
Macau Museum
Comprising two nuclei, the Historical-Cultural Condition of Macau in the 16th and 17th Centuries and the Chinese Art Collection, consisting of ceramics, bronzes, objects for smoking opium, China trade, costumes, numismatics and painting, dating from the Neolithic to our times.

National Palace of Ajuda
A neoclassical building, it was the residence of the Portuguese royal family and still retains the original decorations from the 19th century. It houses important collections of European and Asian decorative arts, namely from China and Japan.

Multicultural museum that aims at preserving the tangible and intangible heritage of various Asian countries through their collections. Worthy of note are the Chinese and Japanese folding screens, Namban art pieces, ceramics and an important core of performing arts.

National Museum of Ancient Art
It houses the largest national collection of painting, sculpture, jewelery and decorative arts - European, African and Asian - from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. Of particular note is the collection of Namban screens, depicting the arrival of Portuguese ships in Nagasaki.

Puppet Museum
The founding collection consisted of puppets from the Companhia São Lourenço e o Diabo and some Portuguese, European and Oriental puppets. The Museum has been hosting other collections. Part of Francisco Capelo's collection of masks and puppets stands out.
