Mattel released "Tuff Stuff" toys in the 1970s. These models of toys were made from a heavy fiber material and featured many household items, as well as cars, letters, and numbers. Some toys, such as the kitchen hand mixer, had a simple pull-string mechanism to imitate realistic movement.
