Around 1900 fish, especially salmon played an important part as a food source of the population. Between 1885 and 1905, the German Fishing organization bred about 5.5 to 6 million individuals, half of those fish were salmon. The displayed preparation from 1890 was shown in the exhibition “Mensch, Fisch!” of the Landesmusem Natur und Mensch Oldenburg (10th of November 2012 to 7th of april 2013).
