Milan, Italy

Girolamo Marliani, priest of the Church of San Michele del Gallo in Milan, benefited from the Ospedale Maggiore with an estate of approximately 14,000 lire, in a will dated December 10, 1644, seven years before his death. His father and brothers were shoemakers in a shop in the area called Camposanto, opposite the Archbishopric. There is no archival information on the painting that indicates its provenance. The unsigned painting is from the Lombard School.
