The drawing shows a preliminary study for the “inginocchiate” windows designed to close the corner loggia of Palazzo Medici Riccardi, whose invention, called into question by the critics, according to Vasari, it shoud be up to Buonarroti. In the sheet is depicted the window’s prospect and one part of the section. The window’s gable, perhaps added subsequently, proposes two different solutions, that one cuspidata and that one centinata. The drawing was probably executed around 1517, right after the return to Florence.
