The 14 Hour Technicolor Dream was a seminal psychedelic happening of the Summer of Love. Organised by John 'Hoppy' Hopkins as a fundraiser for counter-culture publication the IT (International Times). The event brought bands, artists, poets and performers, with two stages facing each other across the Great Hall. A helter skelter was installed inside the hall and the oil lamp light-show was provided by Mark Boyle who provided lighting for the iconic UFO club. Pink Floyd headlined the event, performing at sunrise.
