This exceptionally beautiful and rare Renaissance coin depicts portraits of Milan rulers. It was minted during the regency period of Bona of Savoy, Duchess of Milan (1449–1503) on behalf of her minor 7-year-old son, Duke Gian Galeazzo Sforza (1469–1494), between 1477 and 1481. Bona of Savoy was the grandmother of the Polish Queen Bona Sforza.
