Model T was initially produced in October 1908. It had simple structure, and was sturdy and durable. In 1913, Henry Ford introduced assembly line production to the automotive industry for the first time, and Model T became the first automobile manufactured in this way. By the time production stopped in 1927, a total of more than 15 million Model T‘s were sold in 19 years. The great enhancement of productivity induced the great drop in the price, which was even cheaper than $300. The appearance of Model T fulfilled Ford’s dream of producing a “global automobile”, and also made America become “A Country on Wheels”.
