A group of refugees who had migrated from India after Partition waiting to settle into their camps. The refugee camps lacked sophisticated arrangements.

This image shows a group of refugees waiting to settle into their camps. The refugee camps lacked basic arrangements. People used tents, fabric, sticks and charpoys to create shelters for themselves.

This image is from the collection of F.E. Chaudhry, the only known local photographer who captured the events at the time.
