Front and left hand side view. The Holden Series 50 Utility is based on the ‘First Holden’, the Holden 48-215 Sedan [FX]. The 48-215 was the first car to be entirely manufactured in Australia and was produced by Holden from November 1948 to October 1953. The Series 50 Utility was the first Ute introduced by Holden.
From January 1951 Holden manufactured the Utility, coded as 50 2106 and marketed it as a comfortable and reliable car for country residents. It was replaced by the Holden FJ utility in 1953.
