The legendary Bobby Moore was a cultured defensive stalwart for both club and country.
Three years before captaining England to World Cup victory, the centre-half had established himself as a West Ham United mainstay. Initially deputising for Malcolm Allison, Moore retained his place even when Allison returned from illness.
By 1963, Moore - aged just 21 - had become a crucial part of Ron Greenwood's side. Within a year, he would help the Hammers lift the FA Cup for the first time in history, and would also be named England's youngest ever captain.
