Shanghai SH760 was the unique mid-level official car manufactured in large quantities in China before the reform and opening up, and it was also the car with the largest output and sales volume in China at that time. SH760 had done a lot of work in terms of independent research & development, localization improvement, organizing dozens of the most powerful industrial enterprises in Shanghai to participate in research, production and assembly in the form of united production. In 1958, Shanghai Automobile Assembly Factory succeeded in the trial production of the first “Phoenix” sedans. In 1964, “Phoenix” was renamed as “Shanghai”.
