Front and left hand side view. Produced by Holden Australia from July 1968 to 1971 the Brougham is a large, luxury automobile, which was released in response to Ford Australia’s Fairlane. The Brougham was based on the Holden Premier, but with a lengthened rear, and features luxury equipment such as a push-button radio, power steering, Powerglide automatic transmission and carpet from wall to wall. The HK model launched the series in 1968. By 1971 Holden designers began a slow but determined transition away from simply offering an elongated version of a traditional sedan model.
