1980 Roland-Garros Championships

For the inaugural poster design, celebrated Pop Art artist Valerio Adami—known for his use of bright colors and flat forms outlined with thick black borders—was chosen. His creation graphically represents the process of service of a tennis ball, from the toss to strike. This poster design was created in three different colors, red, blue, and green.
