"Mazur Wschodnio-Pruski" (eng. East and Prussian Masurian) is regional weekly of the Polish autochthonous population living in the area of Warmia and Masuria and a great rarity in library collections (preserved only in two copies). It was published for only three first months of 1885. From April, according to the editors’ declaration, it was to be published twice a week, but no other issues of that period are known.
In terms of its content, the magazine combined features of a general-information and a socio-cultural publication. The informational part briefly presented news from the world, Germany and the region, as well as current economic news, including the prices of agricultural produce. The cultural topics enriching the magazine were almost exclusively connected with folk culture. Among the most frequently published were poems and stories written by farmers and local artists, mostly referring to everyday life and the circle of local traditions. These were mostly various informative and funny stories, historical tales as well as riddles and anecdotes. The magazine also contained information about new magazines and books addressed to folk circles and health care advice.
