This small ceramic model of a Mexica temple is unusual because of the round structure at the top of the staircase. Most models show square buildings, but round temples have been documented among the Mexica. One such temple is in Mexico City and is dedicated to the wind god, Ehecatl. Although broken this temple model appears to have functioned as a whistle, thus linking it to concepts of wind.
