Letter from Juan Sebastián Elcano narrating the events of his expedition around the world: the discovery of the Magellan Strait, the arrival at the Maluku Islands and recording of the amounts of spices, the transfer of ownership of the islands to the Spanish expansion zone, and the confirmation that the world is round. It requests favors for the survivors of the expedition in the amount of "one quarter and twenty of their boxes and a fifth" (September 6, 1522, Sanlúcar). Pages 1v–2v.
