The US Postal Service commemorated the 100th anniversary of Broadway with the issuance of a booklet 29-cent stamps on July 14, 1993, in Times Square, New York, New York. This issuance was in conjunction with the Broadway on Broadway celebration, an annual event that features live musical performances from shows currently running on Broadway.

This twenty-stamp booklet features four of the most famous musical collaborations — "Show Boat," "Porgy & Bess," "Oklahoma!," and "My Fair Lady" — in American theater.

The Broadway Musicals Commemorative stamps were a part of the Postal Service's Legends of American Music Series, which had been dedicated to Elvis Presley, "Oklahoma!," Hank Williams, Rock & Roll, and Rhythm & Blues. The Legends of American Music Series ran for several years, featuring great performers from all genres of American music, including jazz, blues, and popular music.

Designed by Wilson McLean, the stamp was printed on a photogravure press by Multi-Color Corp.
