Milan, Italy

This passenger carriage was created in the 1920s for the Milan-Magenta Castano (MMC) steam line, and, following the electrification of the line in the 1950s, was transferred to the Monza Trezzo Bergamo (MTB). Simple in its detailing, it could accommodate up to 70 people, including 30 seated on comfortable benches along the sides of the carriage. Standing on the external footboard, a passenger could see the brake lever that was operated by hand by a brakeman, who was present on every coach. These brakeman were later replaced by a more practical air pressure system operated directly by the driver in the cab.
