The author of this work is an Ekaterinburg artist Ilya Mozgi. He said that he had noticed those wooden houses long ago:
"They seemed awkward toy mock-ups to me, but unlike toys, wood of these facades is impregnated with the life of its dwellers. There is a soul in these houses.
When I saw them, the first thing I thought about was that they looked similar to birdhouses. The same shelter, but only for people. So I decided to use this analogy with the houses to the best effect".
