About the artist: Michael D. Fay (CWO2, USMCR) (1953 – present)
Michael Fay earned his Bachelor of Science in art education from Pennsylvania State University and his Master of Fine Arts in Illustration from the University of Hartford. Fay enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1975, left to attend college, and re-enlisted after completing his degree. He participated in Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Eastern Exit, and Provide Promise. He enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve in 2001 and mobilized as a combat artist in 2002. He deployed twice to both Afghanistan and Iraq. Fay retired in 2010 and currently lives in Pennsylvania. He is the founder and director of the Joe Bonham Project.
