This hotel development comprises nine conserved pre-war shophouses and a modern tower block at the rear. The three shophouses at 7, 8 & 9 Bras Basah Road were designed by Lermit & Westerhout for Lee San Teck in 1903 and spot a different design from the rest of the shophouses. The sensitive restoration and integration of the shophouses with the tower block show how our treasured past can enhance the present.
For many, the 1st storey of 4 & 5 Bras Basah Road is fondly remembered as the former premises of the Rendezvous (Hock Lock Kee) Restaurant, famed for serving nasi padang since the 1950s.
