44A Studies for the facade of San Lorenzo

This sheet collects several Michelangelo’s design ideas: below it is recognised the second project of the facade of San Lorenzo, around several studies of columns and foundations and a sketch of a figure. On the sheet is also present the first line of a letter addressed to Domenico Buoninsegni, to inform him that the banker Jacopo Salviati was in Pietrasanta, this testimony enables us to date the sheet in 1517.
