57th Anniversary of Hiroshima

HIROSHIMA, JAPAN - AUGUST 6: The A-bomb Dome, which survived the 1945 atomic bombing on Hiroshima, is within walking distance of the new Peace Memorial Park, dedicated for the 57th anniversary of the first atomic bomb attack, August 6, 2002 in Hiroshima, Japan. Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi used the ceremony to restate Japan's policy against having or making nuclear weapons. Those in attendance bowed their heads for a minute of silence at 8:15 a.m., the moment an atomic bomb was dropped from a U.S. B-29 plane, killing about 140,000 people and injuring thousands more.
