During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, game manufacturers often brought out slightly different versions of other makers' popular-selling games. Edgar Clarke, in this example, published his "Hippodrome" game with a circus theme. It is just a version of the then wildly popular Tiddledywinks, with a circus animal game board. Players flip their "winks" up onto the board, which is marked with different point scores. The very decorative box cover hides a fairly plain game board.
