The process of weaving the webbing of a manja is a cherished daytime activity for the locals, especially women. It is an extensive process that begins with harvesting cotton, spinning the thread on a charkha (spinning wheel), twisting and combining them into ropes on a pair of uri (spindles), and finally weaving them into interesting patterns.
