The road on which this pre-war terrace house stands is named after the merchant, Charles Spottiswoode. He was an early resident of Singapore who ventured into business with John Connolly in 1824 and used to live in this area. This house and its neighbour 64 Spottiswoode Park Road were built as a close to identical pair.
