The drawings shows several graphical studies related to the figure of Adamo, depicted in the Taken out from the paradise earth in the vault of the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo focuses on some of the details of the figure, making an analysis of the right hand and of the shoulder and the left arm. The expressive power of the drawn stroke has led the critics to accept the Michelangelo’s autography of the sheet, with the except of several prominent opinions who proposed to recognize a copy or a Buonarroti’s pupils trial (Berenson, Dussler, Barocchi).
