In 1945, Liu Dong invented the 64K wooden printing machine, the first manual flat woodblock printing press in China. In 1938, Liu Dong and some members of his family founded the Baowentai Printing Factory in his hometown of Houweili, Longgangxu. It was the first printing factory in modern Shenzhen. Liu Dong took advantage of his status to buy fonts, printing ink, and paper in Hong Kong and bring them back to the Dongjiang Guerrillas. This vastly improved the quality of the Guerrilla's publications.
