The drawing, realised around 1534, shows a study of a Risen Christ for a Reseurrection meant for the greater altarpiece of the Sistina Chapel, never actually executed. The muscled figure, marked by a slight chiaroscuro, turned his head backwards meanwhile with a stroke of the right arm, points to the sky and, with the left, carried around the torso, wields the Resurrection’s banner.
