View taken in February 1970 of the hall used for winding the superconducting magnet coils for the European bubble chamber. This picture shows the winding of one of the 'pancakes' of which the coil is composed. The various strips of which the coil is built up converge on a 6 m diameter drum where the actual winding operation takes place.
