Caption on back: "December 4, 1944 – Fifth army, Loiano Area, Italy. Radar installations in combat zone. 71st AAA Operations Det., Anti-aircraft operations room, rear left. S/SGT. Harrel D. Crawford, 5119 Palm St., St. Louis, MO., operates the OP Radio and Telephone switchboard. Rear right, Private Alfred D. Clodfelter, Watson, MO., operates radio in contact with the radar unit. Center, 1st Lt. Francis A. Nash, New Salem, N.D., gun control officer, broadcasts to all anti-aircraft units including radars, all plots received from their radars or the radars of the air corps. Right foreground, S/Sgt. Walter B. Hennigan, 17 Apsley St., Hudson, MA, section chief, is in direct contact with air corps radars through the sector operations room.
