Board game:Jerome Park Steeplechase

The "Jerome Park Steeplechase" game, made by McLoughlin Brothers, is named for a famous horse race track at Jerome Park, now officially part of The Bronx. Jerome Park race track opened in 1866, and closed down in 1894 to make way for the Jerome Park Reservoir. For a few years the famous Belmont Stakes horse race ran at Jerome Park. Since the track closed in 1894, this game very likely dates from before that year. McLoughlin sought to capitalize on the famous racetrack's name.
